Disrupting the Status Quo, One Sweater at a Time

There's a new graffiti movement in town. Their weapon of choice? Yarn. Armed with knitting needles and crocket hooks, yarn bombers are bringing their cozy, brightly colored, and ever-so-slightly subversive creations to bike racks, buses, statues and other public fixtures in cities all around the world. Check it out:

Crochet On A Bear Statue from Jennifer Sharpe on Vimeo.

This rocks, and not just because the sweaters are cute (but they totally are, and we totally want one). No, the yarn bombers rock because they look at a stone sculpture and don't just see a statue, they see an opportunity to transform it into something more beautiful and remarkable. That's the kind of thing this world needs a lot more of.

Note to the yarn bombers: you can yarn-bomb our office any time.
