Boldest Action of the Challenge: "Engage in a new healthy eating habit" with Lisa H.
Lisa's action:
Just said no to baked goods as of today. I'll climb hills faster now on the bike! Woot.
Lisa's thoughts:
Mostly I am giving up the baked goods because they don't really work well as a breakfast item. Even if I am busy, a banana or yogurt is a better real-food choice. Processed foods - and those that contain too much sugar, like baked goodies - should be eaten only sparingly!
I have not yet noticed the difference in giving up the baked goods, but I will save ten bucks per week. Additionally, I should be hauling less weight up the hills on my bike soon, and the reduction in power to weight ratio will vastly improve the number of people I smoke on the way up.
What Lisa H was up to this weekend:
Hit the road for a 3 hour race simulation bike ride!
Why I do it!
a) My coach made me do it, in lieu of a real race that day
b) It will make me faster when I DO race -like next weekend soon!
c) Nothing says, "Hello Bold World," like pushing your lactate threshold for intervals
d) I know that after the pain is done, I will be stronger
